L. N NO.59 rule 30 sub-rule 3 requires that every occupier shall ensure that any portable fire extinguisher and all other fire appliances are serviced after every 6 months and examined and tested hydrostatically every five years.

Fire alarm systems

The law states that: 28.(1) Every occupier shall provide and maintain fire detection appliances. (2) Every occupier shall ensure that fire detection appliances are located in the appropriate places for immediate activation of an alarm or automatic fire extinguishing systems.

A fire alarm is a unit made of several devices, which uses visual and audio signalization to warn people about a possible fire, smoke, or carbon monoxide occurrence in the area of coverage. Fire alarms are usually set in fire alarm systems to provide zonal coverage for residences and commercial buildings.
